Kaichou wa Maid-Sama: Please keep this a Secret, Master

A fearsome and very strict Student Council President, Misaki Ayuzawa is seen a demon by male students of Seika High School. No one beats her in class and every male student is either scared of her or very annoyed of her dominant prexy personality.

But once classes end in a day, she turns into a charming and polite lady dressed in a black and white maid outfit smiling before each person who walks in the café door of Maid Latte while addressing each customer, "Master."
Misaki and Usui

A secret no one knows about until oblivious Usui Takumi caught her in maid uniform.

Misaki was throwing away trash in the back of the cafe when she was seen in maid outfit by passing Usui. To escape scrutiny and salvage her pride at being seen in maid outfit, she explained her situation to him, inadvertently telling him about the financial situation of her family. Her father left them and so to help out her mother with their daily finances, she took the part time job.

After that brief conversation, she didn't see Usui again until he entered the café as new customer. Misaki graciously welcomed him despite feeling embarrassed and outrageous. Thereafter, Usui became a regular at the café.

Her attempt to hide about her part time job as maid waitress was put to test when the three bullies from her school who never hesitated to incite a fight against her, also saw Misaki in maid uniform. Lucky for her, she was timely saved by Usui who was with her during that incident. Later, the three bullies also became regulars of the café harrowing for Misaki's attention. They were called "the three idiots" by Misaki and the café staff.

Her secret as maid is safe.

Misaki continues her life as School President working hard to promote the school to bring in more female students as the school was once an all boys exclusive school before becoming co-ed just very recently. As maid waitress at Maid Latte, she also does extra miles for her job.

Usui sticks with her at school and regularly visits the maid café. Misaki calls him the "perverted alien". At times, he also helps out at Maid Latte's kitchen.

Kaichou wa Maid-Sama is a twenty-six episode anime adapted from the shoujo manga of Hiro Fujiwara. The anime adaptation was directed by Hiroaki Sakurai and was produced by JC Staff Productions. A special extra episode, a 27th OVA episode was added to the anime.
Misaki enraged at Usui's teasing

A romantic comedy genre, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama is a light and sweet anime to watch and enjoy. Misaki's obliviousness to Usui's advances and emotional parity can be pretty annoying in the story because she's blind to his advances and teases but she turns really cute, blushing red,  when she finally understands  the situation. Usui is an easy flirt and acts like a dumb when he starts throwing in his punches.

Although the story revolves around the romance between the two, the plot also gives way in showing the different personalities of other minor characters. From the crossdressing niece of Maid Latte's manager, to manager's determined pursuit in keeping her business, to all the fun and cosplay inside the café, each waitress of Maid Latte portrays their own amiable and hidden dark personas. Misaki's schoolmates also have their own individual episodes revealing the nature of their personality and how they overcome personal conflicts.

Drawn by the talented hands of JC Staff Productions, I love how neat and pretty the characters are so well drawn. I particularly like how Usui Takumi is beautifully drawn as the lead male character of the anime. He's the ultimate bishounen tensai in the story. Misaki's look isn't too average either. All the characters are so prettily done but I have to pause a bit for Misaki's childhood friend, Hinata. He's lamely drawn.

Misaki's voice actress, Ayumi Fujiwara, gave full life to Misa-chan's energetically vibrant personality. Usui's voice actor, Nobuhiko Okamoto, delivered Usui with an easy sexy voice laced with depth and a little mystery. Suzuna, Misaki's little sister, has a practical straightforward honest character, prettily voiced by Kaori Ishihara.

Saaya Mizuno's "My Secret" is a shy but lovely and lively opening song for this anime fitting the main characters hesitancy to reveal much about their true feelings but would rather coyly subjugate honest denial of hesitation. The ending songs, "Yokan" and "ooLoop" performed by rock band Heidi are beaty Jpop rock music producing great appeal to its listeners. I held on to the lyrics and music of the ending themes as they were created in a blend of hot sexy beat with a flair of gentleness.

Combining music, art and story of Kaichou wa Maid-Sama, female audience or maybe even male audience will no doubt be charmed by this sweet romantic comedy. It's funny and very entertaining!
